The book of Esther is an incredible story about a Jewish orphan who transforms Middle Eastern History. The decree of King Ahasuerus was announced to annihilate all Jews from Persia. But God had brought Esther into this ancient time period for a purpose How was she able to face the emperor of Persia and single-handedly stop his military from destroying the Jews without wielding a sword. It was divine favor from heaven that was activated through her prayer. Esther prayed for three days just before she risked her life to face the might of Persia. As she came into the presence of the King, she found favor and was granted her vital request.
While we do not always face such crisis in our lives like Esther, our problems can still be enormous. From the dangers of terrorism world-wide to the bills on the kitchen table, prayer can change things. If God can grip an emperor’s heart and alter his horrific proclamation, He can transform your situation. Esther was not extraordinary, but was able to find her purpose in God and tap into the power of prayer. We too can go to the King and make our request known before his thrown. The Bible is clear that everyone has a purpose and can have a relationship with God. This is impossible to experience without taking time out for him in prayer.
Sadly, prayer for some people is a last resort or not an option at all. Statistics show that on average people pray 3 minutes a day. What would happen if people became serious about this gift and realized what God can do? What would happen to the coal mines and jobs in our area? How might businesses, schools, and Churches thrive? How would crime and lost souls be impacted. The answer is and has always been the same for our situation; that is the Lord Jesus Christ. His solutions and blessings are found when we inquire of him. James 5:16 declares that the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much. Reject the negative advice that you cannot do anything about your problems. Heed the divine call today and realize that there is something you can do about your situation.
