Albert Maynard, 86, of Pineville, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at his residence. He was born January 22, 1925 to the late Lafe Maynard and Fannie Maynard Carter.
Funeral services will take place Monday, April 11, at Sprattsville Freewill Baptist Church in Gilbert at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Leatherwood Memorial Cemetery in Justice.
Mary McCormick
Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Hatfield Mitchell McCormick, 79, of Wharncliffe, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 6, 2011, at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, following a brief illness.
Born on June 5, 1931, at Wharncliffe, she was a daughter of the late Joseph "Joe" Wayne Hatfield and Lula M. Hatfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight J. "Bud" McCormick.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Howard Wayne Cooper and his wife, Marcella, of Varney; her daughter, Mary Winifred Walters of Columbus, Ohio; her grandson, Cecil Wayne Cooper and his wife, Jessica, of Varney; her granddaughters, Aimee Beth Cantrell and her husband, Paul, of South Charleston, and Terry Ann Walters McCown and her husband, Brady, of Columbus; her great-granddaughters: Hannah and Abigail Cantrell, and Lillie, Gracie and Nancie McCown; her sister, Joann Hatfield Perry of Wharncliffe; her brother, James Midkiff and his wife Ursula, of Columbus; her step-son, Dwight McCormick and his wife, Sarah, of Springfield, Ohio; and her step-daughters: Romana Wright and her husband, Bill, of Bluefield, Va. and Jill McCormick of Boca Raton, Fla.; special friends who will miss her dearly, Dan and Linda Ward, Bonnie and Ronald Breeding, Velma and Stuart Johnson, and Tice DeYoung. She leaves behind a host of relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer on Tuesday, April 12, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with Pastor Arville Cline and Pastor Carl "Cab" Wolford officiating.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, at Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer with Pastor Diamond Carter officiating.
Entombment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby Heights, Pecks Mill.
Pallbearers will be: Ronald Breeding, John Mark Hubbard, Isom and Stephen Johnson, Stuart and Randy Johnson, Judge H. Mulliins, Jr., Dan and John Ward, and Craig Patrick. Honorary pallbearer is Olilver Musick.
She is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
Mona Belcher
Mona Belcher, 81, of Bruno, died Monday, April 4, 2011 at Logan Regional Medical Center. She was born June 27, 1929 to the late William and Anne Toler Belcher. One sister, Zoma Belcher, preceded her in death.
Funeral Services will be held at Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church in Bruno at 1 p.m. with the Revs. James Ellis and Bill Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill.
