The Mingo County Sheriffs Department arrested a Delbarton man after an accident involving a school bus on Monday afternoon.
Christopher Cantrell, 28, of Pigeon Creek, was taken to Southwestern Regional Jail, located in Holden, after colliding with a school bus near Wharncliffe.
According to Investigating Officer Joshua Endicott, Cantrell was traveling behind a Gilbert Elementary School bus driven by Candy Cisco.
Cisco came to a stop to allow a coal truck to pass up the mountain and Cantrell struck the bus from behind.
Endicott stated that after investigating the accident it was determined that Cantrell was driving under the influence (DUI).
Cantrell received several criminal charges including DUI second offense, driving revoked for DUI, no insurance and no registration.
Cantrell was arraigned in front of Magistrate Dee Sidebottom Monday night.
At time of press Cantrell remained at Southwestern Regional Jail.
